QUEENSLAND TITLE NEWS

Night 1:
26 Cars made the journey to Archerfield Title to contest the Queensland Title, what a great field of cars which all had to contest 3 rounds of heats for night 1. It was sure going to be fast paced.
Heat 1, had N5 Clayton Priest off the front row along side Q47 Sid Whittaker. They were all keen to get the jump on the start, so after two restarts all went to plan with sid getting the jump. The race was nearly completed when out of no where came N63 Drew Keith who took the win. 1st Drew Keith, 2nd Sid Whittaker, 3rd Dave Whell.
Heat 2, Q8 Scott Doyle and Q7 John Cariola off the front row, but scott got the jump and lead the way and won his heat. 1st Scott Doyle, 2nd Steve Seefeld, 3rd John Cariola
Heat 3, N78 Dave Atwood and V72 Mark Sheen were to battle the front row for this heat and Dave got the jump and was winning his heat, when N5 Clayton Priest passed him in turn 4 and took the win. 1st Clayton Priest, 2nd Micheal Gollagher, 3rd David Atwood
Heat 4, Q31(Q1) Dave Fanning and Q29 Wade Pascoe were off the front row, Dave got the jump on the green light and won his heat, but Q77 Keith Blatch started in position 11 and worked his way up to 3rd. Great race! 1st Dave Fanning, 2nd Steve Seefeld , 3rd Keith Blatch
Heat 5, Q27 Dave Whell and Q37 Jason Chaplin were to take the front row for this heat, Dave got the jump, but as he was going into turn 4, he was passed by Q31(Q1) Dave Fanning. 1st Dave Fanning, 2nd Scott Doyle, 3rd Clayton Priest (on the line passing Dave Whell)
Heat 6, Q77 Keith Blatch and Q94 Andrew Sparks were on the front row, keith got the jump on Andrew and led the way until we had a stoppage in the race. Q71 Steve Seefeld and Q34 Andrew Fanning got caught up together on the straight and V27 Jamie Heyen tried to avoid the tangle, but ended in rolling, but was able to start the race again. Not so lucky for Andrew Fanning who's race came to and end. The green flag was flying again and Keith was able to maintain his lead and take the win. 1st Keith Blatch, 2nd Mark Sheen, 3rd John Cariola (who came from position 7) Well done!

Well that was the end of night 1 and with only 4 cars not making some heats, due to damage we hope they all can get there cars working again to contest the Queensland Title Night 2. But the question of everyone mind now is who is the highest point scorer from night 1, or where am I after Night 1? Well that is going to remain a mystery and all that is going to be said is that the top point scorer for New South Wales is Drew Keith and the top point scorer for Victoria is Mark Sheen. It is very close in the points and it is anyones trophy, so race hard.

Night 2:
Still with 25 cars in for the run of the Queensland Title, ahead of them tonight was 1 round of heats, 2 lap dashes and the feature. Unfortunately we had to have a dash cut from our program, because of a accident in another class. Queensland highest point scorer for the night 1 was Scott Doyle, followed closely by Keith Blatch, Steve Seefeld and Dave Fanning.
Heat 7, Keith Blatch had the pressure on him, trying to get a win from starting out of 3 and Steve Seefeld starting out of 10. Brad Ayers and Andrew Fanning were off the front row and Brad got the jump on Andrew and took the lead, until Keith Blatch came around and took the win. 1st Keith Blatch, 2nd Brad Ayers, 3rd Mark Sheen
Heat 8, With Jason Bell and Sid Whittaker off the front row, the pace was going to be fast. Sid Whittaker got the jump and led the way until the end. Unfortunately it was the end of the night for Dave Fanning with engine dramas. 1st Sid Whittaker, 2nd Jason Bell, 3rd Drew Keith.
Dash A, In this dash the top six place scorers try and better their position for the feature. The start off the race showed Keith Blatch out of 1, Sid Whittaker out of 2, Scott Doyle out of 3, Drew Keith out of 4, Steve Seefeld out of 5 and Clayton Priest out of 6. The race went to plan (keith blatchs plan) with Keith Blatch 1st, Drew Keith 2nd, Steve Seefeld 3rd, Sid Whittaker 4th, Clayton Priest 5th and Scott Doyle 8th.
Feature: 25 laps was the journey and Keith Blatch was showing good form. Keith Blatch got the jump on Drew Keith and led the way for quite some time, but with Drew Keith coming on strongly for the lead, got to pass keith from lapped traffic and was looking good. Unfortunately he then come together with Steve Seefeld and rolled which was the end for him. Steve Seefeld led the race until he his chain come off. The lead was now in the hands of Sid Whittaker which was able to finish the race and take the win. 1st Sid Whittaker, 2nd Clayton Priest, 3rd Brad Ayers, 4th Scott Doyle, 5th Dave Whell, 6th Dave Atwood, 7th Andrew Fanning, 8th Jason Bell and 9th Robert Cariola which was first B Grader home. Well done to all competitors!!!!!
