Attention Drivers

Scott Genrich has confirmed that the lightning sprints will be racing at Charlton Raceway, Toowoomba on the 11th February 2012. Racing will be for prize money only, no club championship points. Racing will be in conjunction with the speed car super series so a good opportunity for the Lightning Sprints to race in front of a big crowd. Attention

An executive meeting was held on Thursday 8/12/2011. It has been brought to the committees attention the clubs constitution requires a wording change to clarify days required in a particular ruling. After discussions within the committee to rectify this issue, we contacted the Department of Justice for the correct process to be followed. Thus a resolution will be raised to correct this issue( at next general meeting early in 2012), this will then be sent to the Department of Justice for authorisation, this process will take 4 to 6 weeks once received by the Department of Justice. In dealing with all constitutional matter, aurthorisation must be give by the Department of Justice it is illegal to do otherwise.
Also the committee is currently in the process of revising the clubs financial information and position, with committee changes happening often over the past few seasons, some confusion and questions have been raised over certain issues. The committee is in talks with our accountant and legal advisers and will hopefully have some clarification on these matters in reasonable time, We will keep you informed

RESULTS
Archerfield 22nd October, 2011.

Saturday night saw the start of the Qld club season for the lightning sprints at Archerfield Speedway and a good field of 16 cars attended for the first meet. Great conditions and a superb race track made for some quality fast racing. The feature race saw all 16 cars take the green flag for the 20 lap event. It was Dave Fanning who took the chequered flag 1st with some really fantastic driving, Wayne Iacano raced hard for his 2nd place and John Cariola had a great 3rd place finish. 4th Jim Kennedy, 5th Peter Campbell, 6th Mike Davis, 7th Michael Gollagher, 8th Mark Sinton, 9th Wade Pascoe, 10th James Murphy, 11th Jenny Whell

DAVE FANNING AUST #1

AUSTRALIAN TITLE RESULTS

A great weekend of racing at Charlton raceway for the Australian Lightning Sprint Title and it was Dave Fanning who walked away as the Champion. Fanning the major sponsor of the event (EUROGROUP ENTERPRISES) had a fantastic weekend with some brilliant driving from the opening heat through to the feature.
The feature race for the title with a 24 car field saw an awesome race with many battles for position from start to finish. But nobody coule match Fanning who totally deserved hes victory. Dave Whell 2nd & Steve Seefeld 3rd filled the rest of the podium.Both drivers also had great weekends on the track & were in the hunt the whole way.
Congratulations to all 3 drivers on a great feature race, with 12 heats, B main, poleshuffle & main all drivers should be commended for their efforts, well done to all drivers & teams.
A very special thankyou to the LSA committee & officials for all their hardwork & dedication on the title & the class.
Also a special thankyou to all competitors who travelled long distances to be here, Charlton Raceway & all Sponsors.

TROPHY NIGHT

 

The annual trophy night was held on Saturday night 20/08/2011 in Toowoomba. An excellent night was had by all, with a good meal and plenty of liquid refreshments. Special thankyou to Ryano for doing MC duties and to the boys for a very funny auction. To everybody involved with the setup and organisation of the event a very special thankyou to you all.

Good discussions were held at the meeting with all members having positive input. The committee acknowledged that some issues will need serious attention and discussion over the coming season and will work hard to address these issues. The topic of scales was brought up again and the committee will price and purchase a set for the new season. The committee will endeavour to meet on a regular basis and will keep members informed. The committee would like to wish all members good luck for the coming season and would also like to give special thanks to all outgoing committee members and helpers for all their time and effort.
