Originally owned and operated by long time speedway guru Greg Gardner, the business - under the name Gardner Engineering - became synonymous with high quality performance and custom engineering for over 30 years. In 2006, Greg sold the company to Phil Weeks, a Kiwi racer and engineering contractor. Phil saw the business advertised on a website in NZ, and basically had his mind set on buying it straight away.

Shortly after purchasing the business, Phil offered a partnership opportunity to company employee, Brett Smythe. Brett has worked for Gardner’s for 11 years – specialising in CNC programming and machining. He jumped at the chance to have a personal input into the direction and flow of the business.

Thus began a partnership that combines a firsthand racing and race engineering perspective with a solid understanding of Greg Gardner’s passion – and genius – in manufacturing and supplying quality race components to racers in all categories, disciplines and performance levels.

In November 2008, in order to project a new image and brand, Phil and Brett changed the company name to RAGE (Race And General Engineering). The name and logo epitomises the racing pedigree of the company whilst creating an easily recognisable brand aimed at today’s race competitor and racing public. It may be a new name and look, but it is built on the same knowledge and know-how shaped by Greg Gardner over the last three decades.

Race and General Engineering specialises in the manufacture and supply of high quality race components. From general race items through to custom machined and tailor-made parts, the team here at Race and General Engineering utilise CNC machining, milling and precision drilling technology to provide all areas of the motorsport industry with home grown specialist race components.

Race and General Engineering are specialists in Litre Sprintcar, Midget, F500, Speedcar and Sprintcar components and stock a whole range of items to suit all your racing needs.

Baron Media is a Motorsport and Special Event Photography Company located in Queensland’s famous Gold Coast region of Australia. Headed by Darryl Barrington, Baron Media are known throughout the country for their Speedway & general motorsport action photography. Baron Media are the resident and official racing photographers at Brisbane International Speedway, covering all racing divisions at this facility since the 2002/2003 season. Photos from all meetings held throughout the season are available for viewing and purchase on the site.

Baron Media are also available for any Special Events that require the services of a professional photography team. Baron Media covers all of the action at events such as The Toyota Gympie Country Music Muster, Gold Coast Indy, Gold Coast Bike Week, to name a few. To place an order for photos through the Baron Media site, go to the Gallery/Catalogue link, look up the date of the event, click on the photo you wish to order. Choose the size and quantity, click the review order button and fill in the requested details. Then, click on the place your order button. An order will then be sent to us and one of our staff will then send you an invoice via email for the order. This will outline payment options; you DO NOT need a credit card to purchase from us.
